CourtOnChat ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by CourtOnChat, based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. We provide a WhatsApp-based court booking platform that allows users to book padel and tennis courts through WhatsApp messages.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you interact with our service. By using CourtOnChat, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
This policy is governed by the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) of India.

We collect only the information necessary to provide our booking service:

•WhatsApp message timestamps and delivery status (provided by WhatsApp/Meta)

•Interaction logs with our automated booking assistant
2.3 Information from Venue Partners
•Court availability and venue details shared by our partner venues
•Booking confirmations and cancellation records
We do NOT collect:
•Passwords or sensitive authentication credentials
•Financial card or bank account details
•Precise GPS location data
•Device identifiers or browser cookies (we operate via WhatsApp, not a website login)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely for the following purposes:
3.1 Service Delivery
•Processing and confirming court bookings
•Sending booking confirmations, reminders, and cancellation notices via WhatsApp
•Managing the 5-minute slot hold mechanism during booking
3.2 Service Improvement
•Analysing booking patterns to improve availability and response times
•Troubleshooting technical issues in our booking assistant
3.3 Communication
•Responding to your queries and support requests
•Sending important service updates or policy changes (not marketing without consent)
3.4 Compliance
•Maintaining records as required by applicable Indian laws
•Resolving disputes and enforcing our Terms of Service
We do NOT use your data for:
•Selling or renting your information to third parties
•Targeted advertising or marketing profiling
•Automated decision-making that produces legal or significant effects without human oversight
4. How We Share Your Information
We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
4.1 Venue Partners
When you make a booking, we share your name, WhatsApp number, and booking details with the relevant venue partner to facilitate your court reservation. Venue partners are required to keep this information confidential and use it only for the purpose of your booking.
4.2 WhatsApp / Meta
Our service operates through WhatsApp. Your messages are transmitted through Meta's infrastructure, subject to WhatsApp's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We recommend reviewing WhatsApp's privacy policy at whatsapp.com/legal.
4.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority under applicable Indian law, including the DPDP Act, 2023.
4.4 Business Transfer
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets, your data may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to the same privacy protections.
We do NOT sell your personal data to any third party.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations:
•**Booking Records:** Retained for 3 years from the date of booking, as required for accounting and dispute resolution purposes.
•**WhatsApp Conversation Logs:** Retained for 12 months to handle queries and disputes.
•**Inactive Accounts:** If you have not used our service for 24 months, we will delete or anonymise your data, unless retention is required by law.
You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 7 – Your Rights).
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal information:
•Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel only
•Our systems use industry-standard security practices
•Venue partners are contractually obligated to protect your data
•We regularly review our data handling practices
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that is likely to affect your rights and freedoms, we will notify you as required under the DPDP Act, 2023.
7. Your Rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable Indian law, you have the following rights:
7.1 Right to Access
You may request a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
7.2 Right to Correction
You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
7.3 Right to Erasure
You may request deletion of your personal data, subject to our legal retention obligations.
7.4 Right to Grievance Redressal
You have the right to raise a grievance with our Data Protection Officer (see Section 10) and expect a response within a reasonable timeframe.
7.5 Right to Nominate
You may nominate another individual to exercise your rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.

8. Children's Privacy
CourtOnChat is not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately at hello@courtonchat.com and we will delete such information promptly.
9. Third-Party Services
Our service relies on WhatsApp (owned by Meta Platforms, Inc.) as the primary communication channel. We are not responsible for WhatsApp's data practices. Please review WhatsApp's Privacy Policy for information on how Meta processes your messages.
Our landing website does not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels. Any future addition of analytics tools will be disclosed in an updated version of this policy.
